Subject: Proposal for a new online journal

    Dear all,

I am writing to submit a
project I have been discussing with Mark Cooper for the
publication of the Women and the Silent Screen Conference
proceedings. Given the large number of papers and authors
involved, we wish to propose that publication be pursued as a
collective endeavour, as an electronic open access journal
published by the University of Bologna. This would allow to
process the material by installments, while at the same time
involving more people (i.e. guest editors) in the editing
process. We believe this is the best way to enhance the
visibility of the best contributions. Moreover, once
developed, the platform would be available to publish
          contributions from future conferences.

Marc Cooper has accepted to serve as journal coeditor,
and we hope that a number of you are willing to support the
project and volunteer for the editorial board. We are sending
a short presentation and a rough table of contents for six
possible thematic issues. Please let us know your opinion. We
invite any possible suggestion, and especially proposals or
nominations for the editing board and the guest editors.

          All best wishes,

          Monica Dall'Asta, Mark G. Cooper
