If you would like not to be the default, one of the very best
things you can do is decry support for jack presence detection
It's not a good way for me. :( I use jack presence detection to
dynamically enable/disable different virtual source line types on a
user request. All these lines are represented by several filter pins
so changing this algorithm to dynamic subdevice register/unregister
would require to split them among several filters.
I think Windows should offer a way to disable automatic selection an
endpoint as a default one, but to keep user ability to do it manually.
It does not even require to add new parameters/keys. For example,
it could be controlled by an additional flag in
PKEY_AudioDevice_NeverSetAsDefaultEndpoint, or by setting
SetupPreferredAudioDevices value to zero.
