Not sure if this foray into this discussion group will work but here goes...
In the Film Festivat starting in Chch soon there is a movie called "Learning
From the Light", re the Museum of Islamic Art in Doha (capital of
Qatar) designed by I.M Pei who designed the pyramid at the Louvre.
It is a stunning building and for anyone interested in architecture and
muslim culture it may be of interest. It is about I.M Pei's process of
designing it and looks at some of the mosques in the muslim world that
influenced him- I believe...havent seen it. Think it is about the 3rd Aug
but if interested you will need to check the catalogue sorry ( we will be in
DN so wont see it). It is a building that is very prominent in Qatar.
