Job Opening: DHHA Program Director
DHHA is seeking a qualified and responsible Deaf community member to
work in DHHA Home Office and to assist in
serving the needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. This
position is a half-time position and this job will
have a mentor of current Program Director. The position will begin on
July 1, 2006.
Job responsibilities include:
• Attending regular meetings with the Board of Directors
• Implementing goals and objectives as directed by the Board of
Directors and/or the strategic plan
• Development of programming to meet the identified “priority” needs as
determined by the strategic plan
• Assisting Deaf community members in the implementation of identified
priority programming
• Work with committees on seeking opportunities for grant monies and/or
matching funds from foundations and
donors.
Job qualifications include:
• ASL fluent, a strong knowledge of Deaf culture, and good ties to the
signing community
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with signing individuals and hearing
individuals
• Strong writing ability
• Experience with large group presentations
• Experience with program development, including organization and set
up, advertising and marketing, implementation
and follow-up
• Active participation and links with the Signing community
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability and motivation to work independently, as a self-starter
• Computer literacy, including word processing, database and spreadsheet
programs and publishing programs.
