May 1: New NIC Interview Preparation Study Group Starting

Join a NEW study group to assist candidates in preparing for the NIC Interview portion of the certification process.

Groups will be provided a structured way to analyze and respond to ethical situations and will discuss a variety of actual ethically challenging situations as well as their own from previous experience.

ALL of Signs' Study Groups are online / distance learning opportunities and can be accessed at any time, day or night, at the participant's convenience!!!

Unit 1 An overview of Ethics and Ethical Decision Making Processes & The components of a Decision
Unit 2 Identifying and articulating the Conflict & Potential Ethical Violations
Unit 3 Stakeholder Analysis
Unit 4 Brainstorming possible approaches, Possible Consequences, & Evaluating Stakeholder Impact
Unit 5 Determining the "Best" Solution, Consequences, & Impact to Stakeholders
Unit 6 Summarizing Process in 5 minutes or less
Unit 7 Application Practice
Unit 8 Mock Test


2.4 CEUs will be available upon successful completion in the area of ethics. Candidates for the CDI certificate will be able to earn 8 hours of ethical training with successful completion of this study group. This study group will also benefit students of interpreting and any interpreter wishing to understand about or have more practice with the ethical decision
-making process.


Please make sure you have at least 3 hours per week to devote to the study group! I am certain this study group will provide you with the tools to feel comfortable and confident during the interview process.
