Alert: TABOR Update

Legislative leaders have announced that TABOR, also known as the Taxpayers
Bill of Rights, will be introduced soon. TABOR would put a cap on taxes
and on spending for human services, health and other programs.

Colorado has had TABOR legislation since 1992. The effects it has had on
education, roads, and other essential services have been harmful to the
citizens. Last month Colorado voted to suspend their TABOR laws because
of this. Other states considering TABOR legislation have taken it off
their legislative agendas.

The Wisconsin Council on Children and Families (WCCF) will have meetings
to help people understand TABOR and how it could effect Wisconsin. Plan
to attend a meeting in your area. To find out more, go to:

For more information about TABOR, go to the TABOR Resource Page on DAWN
at: <http://www.dawninfo.org/advocacy/leg/tabor_info.cfm>.

If you have further questions about TABOR, you can contact John Keckhaver
at WCCF by email: jkeckhaver@xxxxxxxxx
