ANOTHER WEB TIP FOR MOPIX FANS LOOKING FOR FILMS
This one from long-time MoPix fan Jerry Weichbrodt in Detroit, who by
the way, no longer has to travel over the border into Canada to see
MoPix films now that two Detroit-area theaters are equipped:
"movietickets.com seems to do a very nice job indicating which movies at
a given theater are shown with RWC or DVS. They give a heading for each
movie, and just below the heading (at least as JAWS screenreader renders
things) there is an indication of RWC and/or DVS adjacent to the MPAA
rating. Because the captioned and described showings are actually listed
under separate headings, you can see specifically which show times are
going to have access features. I have found this an invaluable way to
check out availability of a given movie with descriptions. Also, if your
accessible theater is a ways away, movietickets.com can be a nice way to
reserve a space for yourself at a particular movie showing without
having to trek to the theater ahead of time to pick up tickets
especially if the movie is likely to be a sell-out." Cheers, Jerry

AND ONCE MORE, THE TIP ON THE NATIONAL AMUSEMENTS SHOWCASE CINEMA WEB SITE
National Amusements Theaters (Showcase Cinemas and Cinema de Lux
locations) now has a pared Web page designed for users of wireless
devices that big time description fan Shirley Roberts from Dayton, OH
reports works beautifully with screen readers and PAC Mates. Location,
movie titles, showtimes and access features. Like the detective used to
say on Dragnet, "Just the facts, ma'am." Here's the address:

THE INSIDE MAN NOW AVAILABLE WITH DESCRIPTIONS ON DVD
The DVD of The Inside Man , starring Denzel Washington, Jodie Foster and
Clive Owen (both full screen and wide-screen editions) debuted on August
8 in stores and online shopping sites such as Amazon.com and Walmart.com
with a description track. Thanks so much to NBC-Universal who continues
to provide leadership in the area of access via description to
mainstream DVD titles. Next out the gate? United 93 which has its DVD
debut in stores on September 5.
