Cash Prizes: "Broadband Changed My Life" Contest!
Cash Prizes Available in "Broadband Changed My Life" Contest!
The Alliance for Public Technology (APT), a nonprofit association urging
greater deployment of broadband, or high speed Internet access, is
running a nationwide contest to highlight the breadth and scope of the
impact using broadband can have at the personal level. APT wants you to
share your story on line. They are offering a grand prize of $1,000, a
second place prize of $500 and a third place prize of $250 to the best
submissions. Awardees stories will also be highlighted on the APT web
site and featured in APT-sponsored publications.
People with disabilities are encouraged to go to the web site at
http://ga3.org/campaign/contest and enter the contest before the
deadline of October 1, 2007.
Perhaps as a Video Relay Service user your story of reaching an employer
and securing a great job could be known through this contest? Perhaps
you are a person with a disability running a business online that uses
high speed Internet and this made you richer or off public supports?
Perhaps you can now download and listen more quickly to audioclips of
books and materials where previously you had to wait months for the
brailled version to arrive via regular mail? Maybe your use of high
speed broadband allows you to do some things that formerly with dial-up
Internet access you couldn't do and it changed your life. If so, please
