Apr 3-May 29: Hand n Hand Sign Classes

Attention!!!
Parents, therapists, community members…If you have or work with a child who has hearing loss, speech difficulties or simply would like to become familiar with another language, please consider attending this class!

‘Conversational Sign Language' ( flyer is at http://www.wi-deaf.org/images/community/hnh_slflyer_spring07.pdf ) Throughout this 8-week sign language class, Marie Stapleford, hearing impaired since birth, will use her experience in teaching sign language classes at Hand-N-Hand and Utah State School for the Deaf and the Blind to teach individuals how to incorporate sign language into daily life or therapy sessions or expand and revive your current skills.
Tuesday Nights, April 3rd  – May 29th, 2007

The cost for the class is $25.00 per adult. Class fees are waived for Hand-N-Hand playgroup families. Class size is limited. Registration for the class is due by March 30th . Hand-N-Hand of Northeastern Wisconsin, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides support and facilitates resources for families with children experiencing hearing loss. Hand-N-Hand offers a weekly playgroup for children who are deaf and hard of hearing ages birth to five and their families as well as parent and community education classes.

Hi everyone,

I would like to encourage you to PLEASE be able to come to this workshop. It is VERY important. It is part of YOUR service. They are working to try to PASS the Wisconsin law that all interpreters shall be certified (RID - blue card... not white card). Very well education for us and others. Please spread this important information. There will be beverages/refreshments provided. Please help and share this with others. Hope to see you all there.

IMPORTANT NOTE for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Deaf-blind Residents of the Fox Valley Area: During April and early May, we will be working on a "Senior Citizens Housing Location" survey - some of us will be at events around NE Wisconsin during April to pass out the survey forms. If you want to fill out the survey, contact any member of the NEW Deaf Light House Coalition committee*, or one of the co-chairpersons. At the next meeting, we will be discussing possible locations for a new residence for Deaf, hard of hearing and deaf-blind in the Fox Valley area. Your ideas and opinions are IMPORTANT!
