Eric- Sorry to hear about the sick kid; I've had to spend a good chunk of time home with my kids due to their getting the flue recently. Thanks for providing me with this info. I'll present it to the group on your behalf. I am home with a sick kid. I did speak with the college's event coordinator though and I was able to get some pricing info: The going rate to rent out the space at one of the local hotels is... Hilton Garden Inn & Manhattan Conference Center 1) Guest Rooms (Estimate $119.00) 2) Room Rental (typically based on Food/Beverage, estimate $2000) 3) Food & Beverage a. Breakfast ($8.00 - $12.00 plus applicable tax) b. Refreshment Breaks ($6.00 - $8.00 plus applicable tax) c. Lunch ($8.00 - $18.00 plus applicable tax) 4) Audio/Visual (estimate $500 per day) Four Points by Sheraton 1) Guest Rooms (Estimate $109.00, wireless internet complimentary, free parking) 2) Room Rental (typically based on Food/Beverage, waived if $6000+) 3) Food & Beverage a. Breakfast ($8.00 - $12.00 plus applicable tax) b. Refreshment Breaks ($6.00 - $8.00 plus applicable tax) c. Lunch ($8.00 - $18.00 plus applicable tax) 4) Audio/Visual (estimate $500 per day) So basically, if you spend at least $6,000 on food for the conference the meeting space is free. Otherwise it's an additional $2,000. It would also be another $500 a day if we plan to use audio/video equipment. Individual room rates are about $109-119 per night. The space on KSU campus that would be able to accommodate the group is actually more expensive than renting space at a local hotel according to our event coordinator. She did not seem to recommend going that route. Also, we have a local airport. However, our event coordinator tells me that it is significantly more expensive to fly into Manhattan versus KC. So, she believes that a lot of people would opt to fly in to KC and make the 2.5 hour drive to Manhattan to save on traveling expense. Please let me know if the group would like for me to look into these options further. Thanks!
