   Oxygen3 24h-365d, by Panda Software (http://www.pandasoftware.com)

Madrid, June 4, 2005 - This week Oxygen3 24h-365d has reported the news
summarized below, which can be accessed at:
http://www.pandasoftware.com/about/press/oxygen3/oxygen.asp:

-Increasing numbers of messages infected with malware (5/30/05).
The Californian market research company Radicati Group has presented a
series of statistics about e-mail and messaging systems and the security
problems that affect these services. A summary of the survey is available
at
http://www.radicati.com/cgi-local/brochure.pl?pub_id=497&subscr=&back_link=/reports/single.shtml.

- Industrial espionage using malicious software (5/31/05)
According to Hispasec at http://www.hispasec.com/unaaldia/2410, 18 people
have been arrested in Israel accused of industrial espionage using
malicious code.

- A new and dangerous variant of Mitglieder is being spread massively
(6/01/05).
According to Para labs, the new and dangerous DC variant of the Mitglieder
family of Trojans (also called Bagle.BO or BagleDI-Q by other security
companies) has been sent as spam to thousands of users around the world.
Mitglieder.DC blocks memory processes belonging to a range of antivirus and
IT security applications, leaving the computer unprotected against other
attacks. In the last hours, detections in ActiveScan are increasing
progressively because this malware is being mass-mailed, which is a
technique aimed at increasing the number of detections.

- TruPrevent(TM) Technologies neutralize two new variants of Mytob without
previous identification (6/2/05).
According to PandaLabs, two new and potentially dangerous variants of the
Mytob worms, -EC and EB-, are spreading via email around the world. The
TruPrevent(TM) proactive detection technologies developed by Panda Software
to detect and block unknown malware, have been effective in preventing
attacks from this malicious code, so users who have these technologies
installed on their computers have been protected from the outset, unlike
those with traditional antivirus products, who would have to wait up to
several hours for the update of the signature file.

- Security update for QuickTime 7.0 - (6/03/05)
A vulnerability has been detected in Apple's multimedia player QuickTime
7.0, which could allow an attacker to obtain personal user data from
affected systems. All users of QuickTime 7.0 for Mac OS-X are advised to
update to QuickTime 7.0.1.
