Hi again Paul

I've had success this time. Now one more question, actually two.

How do I switch off the speech and keep the screen magnification. I used to know this. Senior moment I think.

And

Unrelated to supernova, I'm regularly getting error messages over the last few weeks when I open outlook express but if I open up internet explorer and then go back into outlook express it works fine. Likewise if I freeze in internet explorer and go back into outlook express I seem to re-establish my connection. Do you think this is a broadband problem?

Edel..

Hi Edel,

Seems to me like you have things under contrl again. I think the only reason you felt you lost icons was that you logged in under the administrator user
account and this would typically have less icons than you were used to
seeing under your own account. I don't think Kurzweil would have caused you to lose anything and if you feel up to having another go then it should be
okay.

Paul.

Hi again Paul

I've been exploring since I sent my last message and I went into my display settings and changed the colour settings from low (4 bit) to medium (16 bit) which seems to have resolved my dodgy screen however, I'm a bit nervous now about repeating my earlier attempts as I seemed to have lost loads of icons
by doing so. Therefore if you are available, I will ring you for advice.
The icons have been restored by the way since my screen became viewable
again..

Your curious student
Edel..
