Having looked at it, I think you're right on there. Even the Great google has a way of ocr-ing images... And there are some freeware apps out there that will do this, making use of google in the process. of course, your end results may very.

 Good luck, Seoirse.  Eleanor, RoboBraille should work with images as
far as I know.  I'm guessing they use optical character recognition
(OCR) to extract text in images.  There's one sure way to find out...
