Francis,

Well done on your endeavours.

I don't really follow the series but really want to keep learning ways to
follow others that I enjoy.

Simon Delaney was now the only one I came across.
18 didn't work for me but 7 did however.

Such are the vagaries of the player I'm afraid.

Let's surely keep beavering to see how we can make that pllayer work for us in
whatever way till the authorities at RTE hopefully sort it out!

Thanks

Tony

  Hi Paul,

I hope this works! Here are 2 links to the 2 episodes of who do you think you
are that are available on the R T E Player. The first link is the programme
featuring actress Fionnula Flanagan and the second link is the programme
featuring actor Simon Delaney. Now when the page loads bring up the Virtual HTML
list by pressing insert and F3. Then arrow down to buttons list and hit enter.
From the buttons list choose 18 button and hit enter. This will play the
programme and if you want to pause it then just hit the space bar and hit it
again to start playing again. Hope that works!

Hi well here's one, maybe Flor can point me in the right direction. I want
to listen to the series of programs: "Who do you think you are" which was
about people looking up their family history. I haven't been able to come
across such links within the A to Z of the web site section, maybe someone
else might be able to point me to a link for these programs.

    Paul.

        Joe,

I can't tell you any more than I wrote.

        Could you reread my mails?

I don't know for example what button worked for me but try them out
yourself.

        The buttons may change depending.

I don't know if you can access it in The North or not.

            Hi again,

            Some good news!

I finally got that clip to play and wasn't it worth it!

I hit the Janet Gray link which opened flash and then hit different
buttons until I finally got the clip playing.

It's quite "hit and miss" I'm afraid but at least I got there this
time.

Perseverance guys and watch your language! <g>

              Hi Tony.

I don't have an answer for you Tony, other than to comment that
the RTE
Catch Up site is little more than useless as regards
accessibility in my
opinion. Perhaps someone might be able to give you a direct link?

              Paul

Subject: [vip_students] Trying to Watch Item on The Late Late

              Hi All,

I'm trying to watch an item on The Late Late Show of Friday last
where a
blind skier Janet Gray was interviewed.

I tried The Player but it doesn't appear accessible so I tried
the A to Z
but when I hit on the required link to watch/listen to the
segment there was

              no joy I'm afraid.

I did leave it for a couple of minutes in case it was an ad
situation where
you would get silence but it just didn't work!

Anyone have a good way to view that interview?

              Thanks
              Tony
