Hi Eleanor,Adobe flash - whether as macromedia flash or ShockWave Flash - appears to be more widely in use than Silverlight. Silverlight is in amongst the Microsoft Updates, if you go to the Windows update site, or at www.microsoft.com/
I generally just install a Flash player when i'm prompted that a certain content I'm interested in needs it to play or display properly. I had to remove ShockWave Flash, as it caused numbers to appear at the top of pages in pdf files; though whether this was just an artifact of JAWS screen-reading or something else I don't know. I believe I haven't got Silverlight.
If you google those terms, you'll come up with some useful and possibly informsative results.

Date: 01/04/2010 11:55 am Hi, Silverlight is the Microsoft equivalent of Adobe Flash. Now, there is another player called Winamp which (I believe) if you're into Internet audio/radio and video, you'd do well to have. (It plays file types that other players won't.) It can be got from www.winamp.com/ or from the Download A Player link at www.acbradio.org/ and possibly from www.whitestick.co.uk----- Original Message -----

You could test out if you have the flash player installed by gong to www.youtube.com and trying to play a song on there. If the song plays then you should have the flash player installed.
