Project
Update for Week of July 19 –
The following information is an update for PennDOT’s Hospital
Avenue/Dixon Avenue realignment project in DuBois for the week of
July 19. All
work is weather dependent.

Grove
Avenue will
continue to be closed between South Main Street and Prospect Street.
All
motorists are to follow the signed detour route. This closure will
remain in
effect until further notice. ·
The
contractor
will be installing a waterline at the intersection of South Main Street
and
Grove Avenue. Traffic will be restricted to one lane on South Main
Street.
Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic. Expect delays.
·
Prospect
Street
will continue to be closed between Hospital Avenue and
Grove Avenue.
All motorists are to follow the signed detour route. This closure will
remain
in effect until further notice. ·
Prospect
Street
between Hospital Avenue and Mundorf Avenue will continue to be closed.
Miller
Avenue between South Main Street and Prospect Street will also continue
to be
closed. All motorists are to follow the signed detour route. These

advised to watch for slow moving and stopped vehicles through the

State Park exist to enhance the well-being of Parker Dam State Park, to

Forest Equestrian
Tour’ Please meet at the Silver Stallion Stables for a unique
equestrian interpretive tour via horseback. You will travel through
the pine
orchards of Forest Drive and deep within the Forest Cathedral.
Whitetail deer
and goshawks have been known to make an appearance. Cost is $100 per
person
which includes basic riding instruction, a wide array of discussion on
environmental
topics and a scenic lunch prepared by a local Chef. (Vegetarian options
available). Participants must be at least 12 yrs of age and weigh no
more
than 250 lbs. Pre-registration by July 17th is
required, and
is limited to 8 people. A Visa or MasterCard will hold the
reservation. A 25%
cancellation fee for any cancellations 48hrs prior to July 15th.

Fishing the National Wild
& Scenic Clarion River: Cooksburg-Gravel Lick’ Cook
Forest
State Park will be conducting a 3-mile guided interpretive canoe
fishing
program along the National Wild & Scenic Clarion River beginning at
the
Park Office. Remember to bring your fishing poles, bait, lunch, water,
and
wear proper river footwear. Cost is $25/canoe. Participants must
pre-register prior to the trip at the Park Office by calling
(814)744-8407.
Space is limited, so please reserve early. (6 hrs) Sunday, July 25
at 1130am - ‘Fire Tower/Seneca Point Historical Tour’ Please
bring
your binoculars and meet at the Fire Tower Parking Lot for a 45 minute
historical interpretive tour of the Fire Tower and Seneca Point. Learn
about
local logging history, observe Indian sign, and take a breathtaking
view from
the box at the very top of the Fire Tower which will be open until
230pm. (3

DuBois Athletics Golf Outing is Slated for August 28th- The DuBois Athletic Fundraising committee is
pleased
to announce that the second annual golf scramble to benefit athletic
programs
will be held on Saturday, August
28th
at the DuBois Country Club. This event is sponsored by the DuBois
Educational Foundation with all proceeds directed to the seven varsity
athletic
teams at Penn State DuBois. The event will be a four-person scramble
with
an 8:30am shotgun start. Team entries are $240, with individual
registration set at $60. Your fee includes: green fee, cart, brown bag
breakfast, lunch, on-course beverages, skill prizes, team awards. We
are
seeking sponsors for this event – more information and a registration
