Subject: introducing myself

Hello All,

I just joined this list last night. I hope to learn more about the
accessible phones available to many people thus far, what are the
advantages of the different software packages as Talks and Mobile
Speaks? I recently read about a phone which has no visual display the
owasys 23C. It is now available in the US. One can read more about it by
going to www.capitalaccessibility.com. One may also read about it in
Access World. It is one thing to read about all of these phones and
software. It is yet another thing to actually write back and forth to
users of these phones and really find out the score on them. Of course,
one can find out whether companies which use GSM are treating people fairly
etc. I'm hoping to educate myself about any accessible phones so when the
time comes when they become available in my area, I'll be able to make a
somewhat intellegent decision on which one to purchase for my use.

I live in South Central Montana in the US. This is considered rural
Montana despite the fact I'm in the largest city in Montana, Billings. All
of our wireless companies out here are CDMA. The closest areas which might
have GSM are Denver Colorado or maybe Spokane or Seattle
Washington. Perhaps Boise Idaho may have GSM but that could be stretching
it. Sometimes technology happens fast out here and other times it may
not! I do have the LG VX4500 phone which is a nice start for Verizon but
it doesn't have the capabilities of the GSM phones with or without software.

My immediate question is does anyone use the Owasys 23C phone? Does it
have bluetooth capability so it can be used with a notetaker as an M-power?

Thanks for reading and am looking forward to reading your questions and
comments!

Jim Aldrich
