       hi flor
tried that replacement for the long version of [vicsireland] and it works a treat. now I just have jaws say vics or VIPs.....and it means that i reckon i save about half a million seconds a week by making my messages easier to navigate. thought it would be scary stuff going into the dictionary as i had not been there before but thanks for making it as easy as 1 2 3.

Hi Paul,

[You might want to turn on all punctuation for reading this message.]

You'd probably be better off making a JAWS dictionary entry for
[vicsireland] - now, I just hope freelists doesn't throw a spanner at me for
how I wrote the above. (You need to include [vicsireland] including the
surrounding brackets.) So, you would add [vicsireland] and in the
replacement field you could press space, and SAVE your change with ctrl-s
when exiting. JAWS will then not speak [vicsireland] but will speak any
other variant of vics ireland properly. You can replace [vicsireland] with
any short text string of your choice.

Subject: [vicsireland] column width in outlook express

hi folks

I Want to change the width of the from column in outlook express in this
case because the length of the message received from someone at the VIPs
mailing list takes about a month to say.

e.g. jaws says

Joe bloggs left bracket vips Ireland right bracket re .

can I adjust the width of the 'from' column so that jaws just says in the
case above joe bloggs vips.

I went into the view menu and columns and adjusted the pixel width for this
column but nothing happened.

Thanks

Paul h
