Damien,

I've tested Windows 7 with Jaws 10 and everything works reasonably well
except the system tray.

I'm not sure how well Jaws 9 will work though. I doubt it would be great.

The recently released Jaws 11 officially supports Windows 7.

I'm now running Windows 7 on my desktop and I've the 64 bit running like a
dream on my laptop.

Damien,

I like Windows 7. I've been using it since the first beta came out just
after Christmas and I've been very impressed with the entire experience.

Some of the things I like are:

Being able to use the right arrow in the explorer window to get extra
properties about the file I'm looking at.

The new wireless network manager is great. Without using the jaws cursor you
can easily get the signel strength of the network.

Start up, shut down and hibernation is much faster. When I say much faster,
I really mean a lot faster.

The windows library functions have been vastly improved. press windows key
and 2 and add as many libraries as you want. Say your working on an
assignment for work or college... You could assign all the files for that
assignment into a library. This could include music, pictures and
documents. However, the files will still not move from the folders that
you've saved them to. For example, all your vics AGM minutes could be in a
folder called Vics but this could also include details of training days.
You don't want to see the training day documentation when your looking for
AGM related documents so a library could be created that might include the
text of the AGM as well as a recording that you'd previousy saved in a
specific folder for vics in your music folder. Libraries in Windows 7 are
complex to grasp but once you do you'll never live without them again.

I'm also really liking the new windows keyboard commands. Windows key 1 for
example is internet explorer, I've already discussed windows key 2, windows
key 3 is media player and 4 is windows live messenger and so on. These of
course can be changed...

If you have any questions, just ask.

Hello everyone.

This maybe a bit premature, but, does anyone know anything about the
accessibility of windows 7? I've heard lots of people on rte 1 talking about
how great it is compared with vista, but, no-one's mentioned anything about
the accessibility of this new all singing all dancing operating system.

Any thoughts?

?Damien.
