Subject: [PPAT-friends] PPAT class content & VoiceRead online
Hi friends,
Happy to share that PPAT's class content from 2014 has been extensively
documented online
<http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/electrical-engineering-and-computer-science/6-811-principles-and-practice-of-assistive-technology-fall-2014/>
through the efforts of MIT's OpenCourseWare. The site is meant to allow other
educators to gain insights into how PPAT is taught, and potentially repurpose
the content for their own classrooms.
Additionally, one of the PPAT 2015 teams has publicly released their
screenreader application, VoiceRead, as a free extension on Google Chrome
<https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/voiceread/mpokbdfilhadmbipblkpehbikcblpfam?utm_source=gmail>
. It's always a joy to see a PPAT project advance this far. We're very proud
of the students who developed it (Birkan Uzun, Mirim Yoo & Mary Ann Jin) and
grateful to Stacy Jones who provided the initial idea for this project and gave
feedback throughout.
Please feel free to share these resources with whoever may find it useful.
Thanks for following along with our class!
Best,
Grace
