I haven't used read to go in ages. Since I got voice dream on iOS, I hadn't
used android at all for book share. Then I got voice dream for android tried
it, and decided I would just stick to iOS. If you do contact Winston it
would be interesting to know what he says, if he has changed his mind.

Looking at the info in the Kindle app store, voice dream reader will read
epub and supports multipart zipped mp3 files. I should probably convact

To be honest, I haven't used the android version of Voice Dream all that
much. And, being totally blind, I couldn't comment on any of the
differences that might exist for low vision or other print impaired, hate
that expression, users. The things that turned me off were the following.
There aren't as many voice choices on the android side as there are on the
iOS side. If you do a search in bookshare, and you get a list of books
that fit your search, you can't stay in the search list and download as
many things as you want. Each time you do a download, you have to redo
your entire search. And selecting your preferred voice is not easy,
because the names of the voices don't always show up in a meaningful way.
I had this with the ivona voices. And regarding voices, Neo speech, such
as James, those voices are not available at all. Also, downloads fail
quite often. And when that happens, you're not in your search anymore. So
you have to go redo the search in order to get another chance to download
the book. Those were the things that stopped me from using the app. People
on the eyes freelist have had other complaints. But I don't remember what
they all were. The app does work to read books, once you get some
downloaded. But it's just very kludgy an awkward compared to the iOS
version. And now that we have the big update for iOS with cloud sync among
other things, there are even more differences. It wouldn't be a big deal,
because this was version one after all on android. But since Winston has
said there won't be more development, I would hesitate to recommend the
app to anyone. If you're happy with the default voice or the one free a
cappella voice that you can get, although I don't know if that would hold
true for the Kindle store version, and you have better luck than I did
with download failures, then maybe it would be OK. And it's not that much
money. At the very least, I would want to write voice dream support to
find out if Winston has had a change of mind about further development.

assume it is, it is not as good as the iOS version. I did buy the android
version. I believe development has ceased, so you might take that into
account when deciding whether you want to buy it or not.

The voice I would like would be the Kendra voice. I have it on a PC and
also on my android device and on my iPhone with voice dream reader. I
had an old Kindle fire, but it couldn't be updated to the latest version
of voiceview. It has the old screen reader. And you couldn't get any
voices for it except for what came on the device. I heard that with the
new ones, there were other voices available in the Amazon Kindle store
or whatever they call that Store that isn't Google play store. Since
Amazon owns ivona, maker of all those voices, it would be nice to see
all of them in the Kindle play store or App Store. That's why I was
wondering what was there.
