Met got a bath! Can you just imagine how mesmerized he was with the water pulsing on his itchy tummy! Yes it was approved. I did have to change his bandage afterwards which was quite tricky and the tape at the top that they used- well lets say Met would never have gotten it loose. I am glad they opted to not remove the stitches until next week though based on the placement of the incision- all we would need would be for it to pop loose. Something told me to check the mail box before the bath and our shampoo order had arrived! It was exactly what Met's skin and coat needed. I use an organic shampoo that has a few oils and potassium hydroxide for him- very moisturizing which is exactly what he needed. I did find out he was given two other drugs before surgery by IM injection. Had they told me about these before I would have done things a lot differently as one of them is a drug I know (and told them) that Met is hypersensitive to. So please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. The surgery itself may be over but it may be an interesting comeback from this. The gal at the vet office that I use as a go-between to save on Scott's time told me she would like me to write up a directive with everything I know he is sensitive to and then make specific instructions that for other than his regular meds they are to contact me in the future about administration. Actually some things we learned the hard way this time. Met is not exposed to them at home due to my sensitivities so some we had no idea about. Having basically half a day to prepare everything for his surgery was a tough one. Met only shows interest in his galileo bone and in his toys I made him for Christmas- he takes them up on the bed and lays his head on them. He did carry a shirt from the other room into the bathroom for me this morning to be washed- but basically he just needs to be allowed to veg right now to heal. Its harder than being homebound without a chair to be honest. But at least after the stitches come out (or if the weather improves here) we can take walks and hopefully begin to do a bit more soon depending on how Met's recovery goes. I thankyou all for standing by us during this hard time. We could not have done it without all your support and kind thoughts. Karyn and Met -- No virus found in this outgoing message.
