Hi everyone, during yesterday's discussion about navigation apps, someone mentioned the app "OnTheBus".

I tried it out and found that while it has the capacity to give information about local transport services and other facilities, that only works in a few cities. Elsewhere it will simply give you walking directions from A to B.

Some it would only give walking directions here in Melbourne Australia, I wrote to the Dev to find out where the full features do work. They were prompt to reply and I've included it below for anyone else looking at the app :

" We are working to offer OnTheBus in as many cities as possible but, as you
have noticed, it is not yet available in Australia. We do offer the full
features in Barcelona, Madrid, Rome, Laval and Christchurch, with many
others to come. Unfortunately I can’t give you a precise timing on when it
will be available in Melbourne. You can follow us on Twitter and Facebook to
be updated of new available cities"

The project still looks like it could be worth following, particularly if they are able to add new locations with any regularity.

Regards

Quentin
