Hello GISers, Our next meeting is on Wednesday March 12th at 5:30 and will be held in the Dunsmuir Auditorium of the BC Hydro office tower, 333 Dunsmuir. Everyone is required to sign in after 5:30 at the security desk in the main lobby. For more information about the Vancouver GIS User Group, please visit our website: http://www.vancouvergis.org. Meeting Topic: Quality Assured Mining Exploration Data Reporting standards for listed Canadian exploration and mining companies, are specified in National Instrument 43-101. Central to this process is the need to manage and share large volumes of quality assured exploration data from different sources. Computer databases are, in various storage and modelling roles, an essential component of the audit trail. This is a brief overview of how exploration data is recorded, managed, modelled, and finally extrapolated into quality assured information reports for market investment. Presenter: Craig Mackay My background is in the earth sciences and for more than 20 years I have pursued a career in management of spatial information technology and its application to geo-information in multi-stakeholder environments. I hold post-graduate qualifications in GIS, Remote Sensing and Business Administration. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact either Doug Hrynyk doug.hrynyk@xxxxxxxx . We look forward to seeing you there. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- For more details on the Vancouver GIS Users Groups see www.vancouvergis.org To subscribe or unsubscribe from this meeting notice visit our web site.
