Arun Bose's report of a not yet migrated osprey while not uncommon here in
this area at this time prompts me to report for the benefit of the number of us
that have visited Alaska or keep track of avian events up there, I lived in
Anchorage for almost 3 years and still the weekly bird list from there, The
main item on this weeks report is that there is an osprey in the City of
Anchorage this winter. A few lakes and Potter Marsh in that city have open
water year round and have pike young salmon , trout , and a few other medium to
large species of fish in them.
Sincerely ,
Tyler Turpin
