Wow, I thought all GBH nests were up in trees! We'll have to go back soon and check that. It would be a good chance to get some nice shots of one from a different angle. Good luck at Henricus. We have a family brunch today. Al, guess what!! Remember the nest we saw at Rockwood park, the one out in the water that was built on top of the stump snags where the angler told us he'd seen a blue egg in it? Guess what I saw all tucked in, sitting on it today? A Great Blue! It's a Great Blue nest!! Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw a long yellow beak just riding over the rim of the nest, the mother all hunkered down in there and nearly hidden! Will have to keep an eye on that location now! Sorry I haven't posted our sightings from Friday Birding, will probably combine that with what I saw today. Also would like to write an article about the All-Bird Conservation Workshop by DGIF I (and some other Auduboners) attended this week. Nice list of birds at Dutch Gap, that's where I'm off to tomorrow. Talk with you soon! Irene You are subscribed to VA-Richmond-General.
