I stopped at the Wetlands for an hour on the way to work this morning
(okay, it was actually closer to an hour and a half). Highlight was a
Cape May Warbler foraging back in the boardwalk area. There was also a
single vocalizing Rusty Blackbird in that area. Two White-eyed Vireos
were observed collecting nest material and then disappearing into the
thicket that faces the meadow between the two observation blinds on the
pond. Grace Suttle found another Blue-gray Gnatcatcher nest in the same
area in one of the trees along the main trail. Acadian Flycatchers were
saying "peeet-za", and we had a flyover by a Rose-breasted Grosbeak.
Good birding,
Lewis
