I too saw a rose-breasted grosbeak recently - it got onto our feeder to eat.
I also have seen recently hummingbirds, catbirds, song sparrows, and a large
number of white-throated sparrows. Judging from what happened last year, the
white-throated sparrows are about to leave for the summer.

My first rose-breasted grosbeak in two years at feeder today-two of them
plus catbird and hummingbird checking out the other feeders. Nice birthday

Tina Trice and I took a nice stroll around Appomattox Riverside Park in
Dinwiddie County this morning. It wasn't terribly birdy but we did pick up
a few firsts for the year including ROSE-BREASTED GROSBEAK, SCARLET TANAGER,
EASTERN WOOD-PEWEE, ACADIAN FLYCATCHER and BLACKPOLL WARBLER. Full list
from ebird below. Good birding.
