Hi-
The Harris Sparrow is still coming to feed under a flowering quince
(fire in the bush) at Mae Houff's just north of Weyer's Cave. The
sparrow was seen Monday, Tuesday morning, we missed it Tuesday evening.
I got a call at work on Wed. that the Harris sparrow was back, so we
went back yesterday evening (4/17) and got one look at it feeding with
white-throated and white-crowned sparrows about 7 PM. The bird was very
distinctive with black in the head and throat area, and pink-orange
bill. Photos have been taken. Mae Houff was the most gracious hostess
and she already has copies of some of the pictures.
Cheers-
Robyn Puffenbarger and Bill Benish
