[va-bird] anal Path

An early morning walk along the canal path picked up the following
winter/spring species, along with the more usual suspects.

Green Heron 2
Osprey 5
Spotted Sandpiper 2
Ruby-crowned Kinglet 2
Blue-gray Gnatcatcher 7
Red-eyed Vireo 5
Blue-headed Vireo 1
Yellow Warbler 2
Yellow-throated Warbler 1
Yellow-rumped Warbler 18
Northern Parula 4
Common Yellowthroat 3
Ovenbird 1
Gray Catbird 1
Indigo Bunting 1 male
Dark-eye junco 1
Swamp Sparrow 1
White-throated Sparrow 40

American Goldfinch were present in the trees in large numbers. Barn
Swallows are nesting under the route 1 bridge, and Red-wing Blackbirds
all along the wetlands areas.
