David Buckley and I continued to ride the wave of Yellow-rumps flowing thru
Leesylvania State Park this a.m. In the 45 min - 1 hour we were walking on the
trail thru the ruins this morning, there must have been 200-300 YR Warblers
pass us by. Also in the wave were a few PRAIRIES, WORMIES and only one
BLUE-WINGED (my FOY). We tallied a PROTHONOTARY by the cartop boat launch as
well as
YELLOWTHROATED.
We started the day at Cockpit Rd, Prince William Co., and had less diversity
than reported on Sunday. We did manage 10 species of Warbler there...B&W,
COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, YELLOWTHROATED, PINE, PALM, PRAIRIE, moreYELLOWRUMPS, LA ,
OVENBIRD and WORMEATING. We watched a crow displace a BARRED OWL, and managed 4
of the Vireos, YELLOWTHROATED, REDEYED, WHITEEYED and BLUEMANGROUP. SCARLET
TANS were singing, no Summers. Saw BLUE GROSBEAK, but no Rose Breasteds...
