[va-bird] White Oaks Park report -- migration stopped cold, but . . .

Week 2 of April at White Oaks (Fairfax County) was dead.  Exactly one
yellow-rump the whole week, which is unprecedented for any week in April in
the 7 or so years I’ve been surveying White Oaks.  There was a decent
showing of ruby-crowned kinglets, from 1 to 4 every day, with many singing
males.  The only other new bird for the season was gnatcatcher on 4/11.  Oh,
and the WOODCOCK I flushed on the same day.
I did have a nice treat riding my bike to work on Tuesday: a PEREGRINE
half-heartedly chased a couple of geese, then flew directly under me on the
14th St. Bridge.
