While doing the vicarious birding thing this weekend, on call for the office
but hoping for reports from Roger, I watched a poor song sparrow be
harrassed by a woodpecker at my suet feeder. Have never seen a WP turn on
someone so aggressively here before. Also did some retirement planning (for
2012):
Retirement lands on a Mondy;
So we hope to be packed up by Sundy
With a map of the land,
And our bird books in hand,
We're moving our life down to Grundy.
This was composed on Saturday, but having read Roger's bird lunch account,
we had to send it today and put in our reservations. We have many migratory
sounds in the yard here too, but it does not compare!!
