I spent an hour or so at Sunrise Valley Park in Reston (Fairfax County) this
evening and had a few interesting sightings. A cooperative male Wilson's
Warbler was in the willows(?) to the left of the start of the boardwalk. I
also saw what is probably a Willow Flycatcher (based on its call note and
lack of an eye-ring). I didn't hear it sing, so I'll leave it as probable.
It was behind where I saw the Wilson's, visible from the path if you head
left from the parking lot.
Other birds of interest include one of the resident Red-shouldered Hawks
atop one of the new buildings the entire time I was there, a first-year male
Orchard Oriole singing on the far side of the boardwalk, 3 swallow species,
a Brown Thrasher and an Eastern Kingbird.
