I took a quick trip to Burke Lake today around 3 in the afternoon. There
were many geese and ducks in the small strip of open water in the middle of the
lake. Birds of note were a Blue Morph Snow Goose hanging out with the many
Canada Geese, about a dozen Redheads, a few Buffleheads, and two Hooded
Mergansers. Two Bald Eagles were standing on the ice when I first arrived.
One eagle
was immature and the other was an adult which later put on quite a show
soaring around the lake and stirring up the waterfowl.
