VA Birders,
The morning here on Compton Mtn. started out rainy and breezy with little
warbler activity. In spite of that I was able to see 31 species around my
yard as the morning wore on. The most notable birds seen were 1
Chestnut-sided Warbler (female), 1 Yellow-throated Warbler, 2 Magnolia
Warblers, 2 Blue-gray Gnatcatchers, 2 Scarlet Tanagers, 1 White-eyed Vireo,
1 Yellow-billed Cuckoo, 2 Eastern Bluebirds, 1 Great-crested Flycatcher, 1
Eastern Phoebe, 1 Eastern Wood Pewee, 1 Gray Catbird, 2 Northern Flickers
and 7 Turkey Vultures.
I also had 2 chipmunks and 1woodchuck. The woodchuck likes the apples.
Maybe tomorrow will bring in more warblers.
