Merrimac Farm Tour
When: Saturday, April 14 at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Where: 14710 Deepwood Lane, Nokesville
Merrimac Farm is a 300-acre property adjacent to Cedar Run in Prince
William County that has been managed for wildlife diversity for nearly
50 years. This tour is a special event because Merrimac Farm is
currently closed to the public. A conservation partnership is working to
secure the site for public use. Virginia Bluebells carpet Cedar Run's
floodplain for nearly one mile at Merrimac Farm. It's a spectacular
sight, join us on April 14 to see for yourself. Merrimac Farm's rich
floodplain soils are prime bluebell habitat, and home to a variety of
birds and other wildlife. During the tour, we will walk from the uplands
down into the floodplain along Cedar Run. On the way, tour guides will
share information about wildlife, wildflowers and why it is important
that this site is conserved for public uses.
RSVP appreciated so we can arrange for parking.
