I met George Wheaton at the Harrison Road pond this morning (Monday) at about
6:45. We spotted the Ross's Goose pretty quickly (thanks Kurt, Sue & Todd).
There were hundreds of Canada Geese in and around the pond, but the white goose
was quite conspicuous. The Ross's flew off with about 15 Canadas just after 7
a.m.. It headed north across Route 66. Other ducks on the pond included a
smattering of Ring-necked Ducks, a few Buffleheads and a Mallard. No widgeons
of any variety were seen.
The pond on Belvoir Rd was vacant except for a couple more Canadas and a pair
of Hooded Mergansers.
