Good Sunday morning and welcome to Paul Mocko!
07:40am
regarding this bird described by Dave Larsen, I have noted one of a kind I
cannot find in the books, but which might correspond to Dave's. the location
is at the same Comfort Suites cesspool, I mean manmade pond, off Williamson
and Route 234 in Manassas, not far from the Lowe's.
the bird I puzzled over had a v shaped white patch pointing downward to the
nape and shoulder area.
among some geese 'n' gulls, were three red necked grebes, and when the book
refers to helldiving, they mean it. these would take shelter below whenever
the CGs pitched a fuss, which is pretty often. they stay below for a long
time, making positioning of each bird a real challenge.
there were also mergansers and canvasback ducks present.
