Greeting to all:
On Friday November 12, 2004 at 0830 hrs I had a total of 7 Purple Finches and 2
Pine Siskins at my backyard feeders. Maybe this year I might have the siskins
to return like I had them one winter when I had somewhere around 200 to 250 or
more. They were all over the feeders, the ground and on almost every tree
limb. I went out to fill up the feeders and they wouldn't even wait to let me
hang the thistle feeder back up when they started coming down out of the trees
and landed not only on the feeder but also on my head, arms and shoulders. I
even walked into the house to show my wife what they had done and was able to
walk around inside and then return back outside before they flew off.
On Friday November 5, 2004 at 0930 hrs I spotted two adult Bald Eagles flying
overhead in the town of South Boston at the intersection of Marshall Ave and
Seymour Drive. One return a half hour later and circled around for a few
minutes about 75 feet above me before flying off.
Good Birding always
