I woke up this morning to my husband's request that I check out a bird
at the feeder on our upper deck. Bleary-eyed, I shuffled to the window
and checked out the feeder. There sat a female Purple Finch, who was
soon joined by two more females and three beautiful males. Our feeder
has hosted the occasional female in the past, but I'd not previously
seen a male there, let alone three. The finches been back and forth
between that feeder and another in our woods since then, affording great
views, although our usual feeder suspects and the squirrels do
occasionally spook them (grrr).
Happy birding!
