Hi Birders -
I ran into George Wheaton and Ralph Wall on Cockpit Rd. today. It was a
lovely day with some pretty good finds: at least 2 BALD EAGLES; OSPREY
(several) WHITE-EYED
VIREO, RE VIREO, possible/probable (?) PHILADELPHIA VIREO (none of us
was certain of the song and we didn't see the bird);WOOD THRUSH, WORM-EATING
WARBLERS (2 minimum), BLACI-THROATED BLUE, BLACK-THROATED GREEN,
YELLOW-THROATED WARBLER (4), SCARLET TANAGER, GREAT-CRESTED FLYCATCHER, BLACK &
WHITE
WARBLER, a zillion or two BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHERS,including one with an
almost-completed nest (I should
be such a good house-keeper), ye olde YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLER (not too many,
thank you), PRAIRIE WARBLER and the usual suspects. Not too
bad!
