I swear today I think I saw an Osprey along the Shenandoah River at Morgans
Ford in Front Royal where Happy Creek Road ends and Morgans Ford Road picks
up. I was parked in the parking lot near the bridge and suddenly there was
this huge splash in the water and I saw this bird come up out of the water
with a fish in it's talons. Had my binocs but they aren't that good and it
was pretty far away. Definitely had white underbody and brown outer. It was
startling to say the least.
Could anyone here confirm whether or not they hunt in the rivers here? I
thought they were more shore birds. Course I am new at birding.
