A perfect evening and the "nighthawk show" did not disappoint: The roof
lighting turned on at 8:30 - and we counted 7 nighthawks circling low before 5
minutes passed. Within 10 minutes there were 15-17, and two dozen before we
left after 20 minutes.
We'd hoped to make it a Gallows Rd. "double-header" but it was far too dark
to see the chimney swifts at the Luther Jackson Middle School. Have to go
back and reverse the order of visits another evening. Regardless, the
nighthawks
swooping (and sometimes interacting with bats as well) are an impressive
display.
