Speaking of hybrids, the May/June 2005 issue of the ABA's magazine Birding
just arrived and is devoted to "Recognizing Hybrids". The four featured
articles
discuss hybridization among Buteos, Blue-winged and Golden-winged Warblers,
Kelp and Herring Gulls, and Sapsuckers.
As far as the mystery bird goes, I concur that one of the parents, if not
both, was a Red-eyed Vireo.
