This evening while I was watching for nighthawks at Van Dyck Park
four flickers flew south low over the treeline in rapid sucession. Since I
haven't any here since I started my watches on August 15 I assume this were
migrants which seems a little early to me. I have seen migrants here later
in September in previous years.
