Merlins are rare spring migrants anywhere, so Bill Williams, Fred Bystone
and I were delighted to see the first 3 of the season, at College Creek
Hawkwatch today, April 27th. True to form, one of them couldn't resist
harrassing a
Laughing Gull before speeding on past.
The 11 species today ties the daily high. Turkey Vultures have been slowing
down as more hawks appear. The season total stands at 1186.
