All,

The final May 06 Northern Virginia Birding Calendar has been published. You will find a link to the calendar on the Birding Northern Virginia web site. Look for the link on the sidebar of the site's Clubs, Walks, & Calendar page. The Birding Northern Virginia web site can be found at www.homepage.mac.com/pmkane. Other content on the Birding Northern Virginia web site also has been updated.

The June 06 calendar is active, though the final June calendar will not be published until June 1, 2006. Thereafter final monthly calendars will be published on or about the first of each month. The Birding Northern Virginia web site also discusses ways that the calendar may be used. See the site' s Club's, Walks, & Calendar page.

Calendar Notes:

The calendar may be viewed in three views. These are Daily, Weekly, and Monthly views. The calendar's default view is its Monthly view. Most birders will find the calendar's Monthly and Daily views the most helpful.

Click into any calendar event (in any calendar view) to review the details for an event, if any.

In the calendar's Monthly View, calendar boxes displaying a blue plus (+) sign have more entries posted to them than may be seen. Click into the plus (+) sign and the calendar will open in its Daily view, where all of the calendar entries for that day may be viewed.

Please do not subscribe to the calendar. Instead, you may add the calendar to your Favorites Folder or bookmark it. Consult your computer's operating instructions to do this. Or you may continue to access the calendar from the Birding Northern Virginia web site.

Questions regarding events posted to the calendar should be referred to an event's sponsor or contact person.

Questions or comments regarding the actual calendar should be sent to me directly, not posted to VA Bird.

Calendar Reminders:

5/6  The Fairfax County Spring Count takes place
5/27 The Dyke Marsh Breeding Bird Survey begins

These are great opportunities to participate in surveys of consequence. Reservations required. Click into the calendar entries for these events for contact and other information.
