I got the following note this morning from the Larners --
"Just got back from Chincoteague.
Yesterday afternoon about 5: 30 at Tom's
Cove near the visitors center, My wife ( Pat ) & I observed a male -- non -
breeding plumaged Lark Bunting. We got good looks at the bird because we
were no more than 15 ft. away from it . Went to take some pics of it but a
bunch of kids on bikes started racing up the road & the bird flew in front
of them towards the visitors center . It disappeared to the left side of the
road -- never to be seen by us again . P S I wrote the bird down as a
female which it resembled but it had to much white in the wings for a female
bird . Pat & Allen Larner ."
