We found a single LONG-BILLED DOWITCHER tonight at Blandy Arboretum. The pond
called Lake Arnold is at just the right level to draw good shorebirds. I expect
it will remain so for awhile.
My friend Jake, who's doing his Catbird study out there, reports MANY Catbirds
returning that were banned last year. Today, large numbers showed up and were
busily establishing territories. This was the first day he was seeing females.
